Admission Sessions & Examination

The Method of Instructions and Examinations is as per the partnering university norms as suggested from the respective Indian or foreign university in which the student is enrolled and is prevalent during that session.

Students are not required to attend the classes when they enrol for distance learning mode however if they wish to attend difficulties or doubt clearing session it shall be made available on request and at additional cost.

There are two session available for Admission-

Academic Year Session : June to May (of a Year)
Calendar Year Session : Jan to Dec (of a Year)

All enrolled students shall be provided with the study material according to the rules as applicable by the partnering universities if it?s applicable. Other students can download the study materials either from the E-Book section or refer our E-library section for selected few titles available for reference. Students can also purchase books from our authorized book vendor or from IMA by paying additional study material cost.

IMA also provides list of reference books to students wherever required and asked for.

Examination Fee: As specified by the partnering universities from time to time, based on university rules & regulations.

Re-Examination: As specified by the partnering universities from time to time, based on university rules & regulations.

Exams Pattern for Indian Universities:

Term end examination will be held as per scheme notified from time to time by the respective partnering university. Examination schedule is intimated on the respective partnering university website from time to time depending upon session; usually the examinations are in the month of JUNE & DEC for Academic & Calendar Session respectively. Student can exercise the option to choose the exam centres at the location convenient to them. Being flexible distance learning examination system student has to re-appear for examination in such subjects only in which he/she has failed, all other rules & regulations as specified by the respective partnering universities shall be applicable & binding on all the students.

Exam Pattern for Foreign Universities:

1) Online Examination: (Under Development Phase-will Launch Soon) for the benefit of the IMA students the examinations can be administered ?online?. Students of distance learning mode can take ?online? examination anywhere in the world using a computer with Internet access. Effective use of online examination method can help distance learning mode students in numerous ways:

  • Cost: It is in the interest of distance learning mode students so as to save upon travelling cost, time & energy.
  • Easy to use and students may give the exam from anywhere in the world using a computer with an internet facility. (They can appear in the exam even from a cyber cafe in there city)
  • Question: Questions are convenient to answer for the students, as they are in Objective/ multiple choice forms.
  • Result: The examinee can know the result by contacting the Student Support Desk and will also be emailed to them as well.

Instructions for appearing in the online examination:
  • You are advised to contact the institute before taking an online examination.
  • To access the online exam you require a USER NAME and PASSWORD, Which will be assigned to you by the institute on submission of your examination form and the examination fee as instructed by the institute.
  • The user name & password will allow you to access the examination on the days allotted to you.

2) Proctored Postal Examination: International partnering universities has provision for assignment based proctored postal term end examination. Under this scheme, term end exam papers & assignments are sent to the proctor of the student (under confidential cover) as per term end examination schedule given in the admission letter. These are to be completed /answered and the response-sheets returned to the Institute within the stipulated time period as per the exam schedule.

In the absence of any express option, it is believed that student has opted for assignment based postal term end examination system.

Students are advised to dispatch the response sheets to the Institute by registered post/courier to ensure their timely receipt.

Students may submit response sheets of assignments /term end examinations of all subjects together or may submit in parts followed by the submission of remaining assignments/response sheets with in the specified time as instructed by the examination department from time to time and according to the rules & regulation governed by the international partnering universities.

If in extreme situations a student is not in a position to take the term end examination as per examination schedule and want to get it rescheduled (pre-pone or post-pone), may inform the Institute accordingly with a fee @ Rs. 250/- per subject one month in advance to avoid penalty of re-examination fee so that his/her session/semester is re-scheduled accordingly and examination arranged as per request, this would be only possible upon approval from the university from case to case basis based on the extreme situation arising.

If a student fails to submit the response sheets of assignments of the term end examination of one or more subjects within the required period, he/she shall be treated as absent and shall have to appear for re-examination on payment of re-examination fee @ Rs. 250/- per subject. Re-examination is arranged within one month on receiving request from the student.
